The County Road Department is responsible for the maintenance of roads within the boundaries of Sierra County.
The Road Department oversees the County Landfill, which is open to all residents of Sierra County for the purpose of refuse disposal.
Recycle!
Beginning September 1, 2012, Sierra County will be implementing a rotating recyclable collection schedule.
The recyclable collection will occur on Fridays and Saturdays, according to the following schedule:
- Sierra County Collection Center—The first Friday and Saturday of each month
- Winston Transfer Station—The second Friday and Saturday of each month
- Arrey Transfer Station—The third Friday and Saturday of each month
- Hillsboro Transfer Station—The fourth Friday and Saturday of each month
